बहूनि मे व्यतीतानि जन्मानि तव चार्जुन।

तान्यहं वेद सर्वाणि न त्वं वेत्थ परन्तप॥

Transliteration

Bahuni Me Vyatitani Janmani Tava Cha-Arjuna.

Tany-Aham Veda Sarvani Na Tvam Vettha Parantapa.

Hindi Translation (हिन्दी अर्थ)

श्रीभगवान बोले — हे अर्जुन! मेरे और तुम्हारे बहुत से जन्म बीत चुके हैं। उन सबको मैं जानता हूँ, परन्तु तुम नहीं जानते, हे परन्तप!

English Translation

The Supreme Lord said: Many births of Mine have passed, and many of yours too, O Arjuna. I know them all, but you do not know them, O Parantapa.

Commentary (टीका)

Krishna reveals the fundamental difference between the Divine and the individual soul — both have had many appearances, but Krishna retains complete knowledge of all His incarnations while the individual soul, bound by material nature, does not remember. This verse establishes Krishna's omniscience and His distinction from ordinary beings.
