English Translation

Where the mind, restrained by the practice of yoga, becomes quiet; where, seeing the Self by the self, one is satisfied in the Self —

Commentary (टीका)

Krishna begins describing the state of samadhi (verses 20-23). The mind becomes completely still through yoga practice and ceases all its usual fluctuations. In this stillness, the purified mind becomes the mirror in which the Self sees itself. The resulting satisfaction is complete and self-sufficient — it needs nothing external. This is the beginning of the highest meditative experience.
