एवमुक्त्वार्जुनः सङ्ख्ये रथोपस्थ उपाविशत्।

विसृज्य सशरं चापं शोकसंविग्नमानसः॥४७॥

Evam-Uktva-Arjunah Sankhye Rathopastha Upavishat.

Visrijya Sa-Sharam Chapam Shoka-Samvigna-Manasah.||47||

Hindi Translation (हिन्दी अर्थ)

संजय ने कहा — ऐसा कहकर अर्जुन रणभूमि में शोक से व्याकुल मन वाले होकर बाण सहित धनुष को छोड़कर रथ के पिछले भाग में बैठ गए।

English Translation

Sanjaya said: Having spoken thus on the battlefield, Arjuna cast aside his bow and arrows and sank into the seat of his chariot, his mind overwhelmed with grief.

Commentary (टीका)

The chapter ends with this powerful image — the greatest archer of his era sitting down in defeat before the battle has even begun, his weapons abandoned. This moment of complete psychological collapse is the necessary darkness before the dawn of Krishna's teachings. Without this depth of despair, Arjuna would not have been ready to receive the highest wisdom.
