English Translation
You alone know Yourself by Your own Self, O Supreme Person, O Creator of beings, O Lord of beings, O God of gods, O Lord of the universe.
Commentary (टीका)
Arjuna uses five magnificent epithets for Krishna, each revealing a different aspect of His supremacy. The key insight is that only God can fully know God — no finite being can comprehend the Infinite. This is not a limitation of seekers but the natural relationship between the finite and the Infinite. It makes divine revelation essential for spiritual knowledge.
