English Translation

Of weapons I am the thunderbolt; of cows, Kamadhenu (the wish-fulfilling cow); I am Kandarpa, the cause of procreation; and of serpents I am Vasuki.

Commentary (टीका)

The vajra (thunderbolt) of Indra is the most powerful weapon, Kamadhenu fulfills all desires, Kandarpa (Cupid) represents the creative force of desire that sustains life, and Vasuki is the king of serpents. Krishna's identification with Kandarpa shows that even desire, when aligned with dharma (procreation), is a divine force.
