नाहं वेदैर्न तपसा न दानेन न चेज्यया।
शक्य एवंविधो द्रष्टुं दृष्टवानसि मां यथा॥
Transliteration
Na-Aham Vedair-Na Tapasa Na Danena Na Cha-Ijyaya.
Shakya Evam-Vidho Drashtum Drishtavan-Asi Mam Yatha.

न वेदों से, न तपस्या से, न दान से, न यज्ञ से मैं इस प्रकार देखा जा सकता हूँ, जैसा तुमने मुझे देखा।
English Translation
Neither by the Vedas, nor by austerity, charity, nor sacrifice can I be seen in this form as you have seen Me.
Commentary (टीका)
Conventional means of spiritual advancement are all insufficient for this supreme vision. Something beyond all these is required — revealed in the next verse.
