श्रीभगवानुवाच —

प्रकाशं च प्रवृत्तिं च मोहमेव च पाण्डव।

न द्वेष्टि सम्प्रवृत्तानि न निवृत्तानि काङ्क्षति॥२२॥

Transliteration

Shri Bhagavan Uvacha —

Prakasham Cha Pravrittim Cha Moham-Eva Cha Pandava.

Na Dveshti Sampravrittani Na Nivrittani Kankshati.

Hindi Translation (हिन्दी अर्थ)

श्रीभगवान ने कहा — हे पाण्डव! जो प्रकाश (सत्त्व), प्रवृत्ति (रजस) और मोह (तमस) — इनके उपस्थित होने पर द्वेष नहीं करता और दूर होने पर कामना नहीं करता,

English Translation

The Blessed Lord said — He who does not hate illumination, activity, or delusion when they arise, O Pandava, nor longs for them when they cease,

Commentary (टीका)

Krishna begins describing the Gunatita by addressing the first question about signs. Such a person neither resists nor clings to any of the three Gunas. When Sattvic clarity arises, he does not become proud; when Rajasic activity drives him, he does not become agitated; when Tamasic dullness appears, he does not despair. This equanimity is the hallmark of transcendence.
