Commentary (टीका)
This verse concisely summarizes the binding mechanism of each Guna. Sattva creates a golden chain of happiness and knowledge, Rajas creates a chain of compulsive activity, and Tamas throws a veil of ignorance leading to carelessness. Each Guna has its own way of keeping the soul entangled in worldly existence.
