बुद्धेर्भेदं धृतेश्चैव गुणतस्त्रिविधं शृणु।

प्रोच्यमानमशेषेण पृथक्त्वेन धनञ्जय॥

Buddher-bhedam dhritesh-chaiva gunatas-trividham shrinu

Prochyamanam-asheshena prithaktvena Dhananjaya

Hindi Translation (हिन्दी अर्थ)

हे धनञ्जय! अब गुणों के अनुसार बुद्धि और धृति (धैर्य) का भी त्रिविध भेद मुझसे सम्पूर्ण रूप से पृथक्-पृथक् सुनो।

English Translation

Now hear from Me, O Dhananjaya, the threefold distinction of intellect and also of resolve, described fully and separately according to the gunas.

Commentary (टीका)

Krishna extends the three-guna classification to intellect and resolve — two key inner faculties that shape all decision-making. By understanding which guna governs one's thinking and willpower, a seeker can work on upgrading these faculties toward sattva.
