Hindi Translation (हिन्दी अर्थ)

English Translation

The Vedas deal with the three gunas (sattva, rajas, tamas). O Arjuna, transcend the three gunas. Be free from dualities, established in pure goodness, unconcerned with acquisition and preservation, and self-realized.

Commentary (टीका)

Krishna asks Arjuna to rise above even the Vedic framework of the three gunas (qualities of nature). True spiritual freedom means transcending all material qualities — good, passionate, and inert alike. Being 'niryoga-kshema' means not worrying about gaining what one lacks or preserving what one has. This is radical inner freedom.
