Hindi Translation (हिन्दी अर्थ)

English Translation

Speaking, letting go, grasping, opening and closing the eyes — understanding that it is merely the senses engaging with their respective objects.

Commentary (टीका)

Continuing from the previous verse, Krishna completes the list of daily activities and explains the key understanding: all these are merely the automatic functioning of the senses with their objects. The Self is the uninvolved witness. This discrimination between the Self and the senses is the foundation of jnana (knowledge) and leads to freedom from karmic bondage.
