Hindi Translation (हिन्दी अर्थ)

वहाँ आसन पर बैठकर, मन को एकाग्र करके, चित्त और इन्द्रियों की क्रियाओं को संयमित करके, आत्मशुद्धि के लिए योग का अभ्यास करे।

English Translation

Seated there on the seat, making the mind one-pointed, with the activities of the mind and senses controlled, one should practice yoga for self-purification.

Commentary (टीका)

The purpose of meditation is clearly stated: atma-vishuddhaye — for the purification of the self. The practice involves sitting on the prepared seat, making the mind one-pointed (ekagra), and controlling the activities of the mind and senses. This systematic approach — proper seat, focused mind, controlled senses — forms the foundation of all meditation practices in yoga.
