English Translation

In My opinion, yoga is difficult to attain for one whose self is uncontrolled. But for one whose self is controlled and who strives, it is possible to attain through proper means.

Commentary (टीका)

Krishna is realistic — yoga is indeed difficult for the undisciplined, but achievable for the disciplined person who makes proper effort using the right methods. The key word is 'upayatah' (by proper means), indicating that correct technique matters alongside effort. This balanced view neither dismisses the difficulty nor creates despair — it encourages intelligent, sustained effort.
