ततः शङ्खाश्च भेर्यश्च पणवानकगोमुखाः।

सहसैवाभ्यहन्यन्त स शब्दस्तुमुलोऽभवत्॥१३॥

Tatah Shankhash-Cha Bheryas-Cha Panavana-Ka-Gomukhah.

Sahasai-Va-Abhyahanyanta Sa Shabdas-Tumulo'bhavat.||13||

उसके बाद शङ्ख, नगाड़े, ढोल, मृदंग और गोमुख आदि वाद्य एक साथ बज उठे। वह ध्वनि अत्यन्त भयंकर थी।

English Translation

Then conches, kettledrums, tabors, drums, and cow-horns all sounded together at once. The combined noise was tumultuous.

Commentary (टीका)

The sudden burst of war instruments on the Kaurava side marks the escalation of tension. The tumultuous sound symbolizes the chaos of war that is about to engulf both armies. This contrasts with the more disciplined and divine conch-blowing by the Pandava side that follows.
