मृगाणां च मृगेन्द्रोऽहं वैनतेयश्च पक्षिणाम्॥

दैत्यों में मैं प्रह्लाद हूँ, गणना करने वालों में काल (समय) हूँ, पशुओं में सिंह हूँ और पक्षियों में गरुड़ हूँ।
English Translation
Of the Daityas (demons) I am Prahlada; of reckoners I am Time; of animals I am the lion; and of birds I am Garuda.
Commentary (टीका)
Prahlada, the great devotee born among demons, represents devotion triumphing over birth circumstances. Time is the ultimate calculator that governs all existence. The lion is the king of animals, and Garuda is the divine eagle, Vishnu's vehicle. The inclusion of Prahlada among demons shows that God's glory can manifest even in the most unlikely places.
