दिवि सूर्यसहस्रस्य भवेद्युगपदुत्थिता।

यदि भाः सदृशी सा स्याद्भासस्तस्य महात्मनः॥

Transliteration

Divi Surya-Sahasrasya Bhaved-Yugapad-Utthita.

Yadi Bhah Sadrishi Sa Syad-Bhasas-Tasya Maha-Atmanah.

Hindi Translation (हिन्दी अर्थ)

यदि आकाश में हजारों सूर्य एक साथ उदय हों, तो वह प्रकाश भी उस विश्वरूप महात्मा की आभा के समान हो सकता है।

English Translation

If a thousand suns were to rise simultaneously in the sky, their radiance might perhaps resemble the effulgence of that great Soul.

Commentary (टीका)

This is perhaps the most famous verse in the chapter, later quoted by J. Robert Oppenheimer. The comparison of a thousand suns rising simultaneously attempts to convey the inconceivable brilliance of the cosmic form.
