कालोऽस्मि लोकक्षयकृत्प्रवृद्धो
लोकान्समाहर्तुमिह प्रवृत्तः।
ऋतेऽपि त्वां न भविष्यन्ति सर्वे
येऽवस्थिताः प्रत्यनीकेषु योधाः॥
Transliteration
Kalo'smi Loka-Kshaya-Krit Pravruddho
Lokan-Samahartum-Iha Pravrittah.
Rite'pi Tvam Na Bhavishyanti Sarve
Ye'vasthitah Praty-Anikeshu Yodhah.

Hindi Translation (हिन्दी अर्थ)
श्रीभगवान बोले — मैं लोकों का संहार करने वाला प्रबल काल हूँ। इस समय इन लोकों को नष्ट करने में प्रवृत्त हूँ। तेरे बिना भी प्रतिपक्ष के सब योद्धा नहीं रहेंगे।
English Translation
The Supreme Lord said: I am mighty Time, the destroyer of worlds, now engaged in destroying them. Even without you, all the warriors in the opposing armies shall cease to exist.
Commentary (टीका)
This is the most iconic verse of the Gita — 'Kalo'smi.' Krishna reveals that as Time, He is the ultimate destroyer. The warriors are already doomed. This liberates Arjuna from guilt, showing death is ordained by cosmic Time.
