यथा सर्वगतं सौक्ष्म्यादाकाशं नोपलिप्यते।
सर्वत्रावस्थितो देहे तथात्मा नोपलिप्यते॥३३॥

Yatha Sarvagatam Saukshymyad-Akasham No-Palipyate.
Sarvatra-Avasthito Dehe Tatha-Atma No-Palipyate.

Hindi Translation (हिन्दी अर्थ)
जैसे सर्वव्यापी आकाश सूक्ष्म होने से किसी से लिप्त नहीं होता, वैसे ही सब जगह शरीर में स्थित आत्मा लिप्त नहीं होता।
English Translation
Just as the all-pervading space is not tainted because of its subtlety, so the Self, though present everywhere in the body, is not tainted.
Commentary (टीका)
Krishna uses the beautiful analogy of space (Akasha) to explain the purity of the Self. Space pervades everything — it is inside a jar of perfume, inside refuse, inside a temple — yet it is never contaminated by what it contains. Similarly, the Self pervades the body and all its activities but remains eternally pure and untouched.
