आचार्योपासनं शौचं स्थैर्यमात्मविनिग्रहः॥८॥

English Translation

Humility, absence of hypocrisy, non-violence, patience, straightforwardness, service to the teacher, purity, steadfastness, and self-control —

Commentary (टीका)

Krishna now begins listing the twenty qualities that constitute true knowledge (Jnana). These are not mere intellectual concepts but lived virtues that prepare the mind for spiritual realization. The first set includes moral and ethical qualities that form the foundation of spiritual life.
