Commentary (टीका)

Krishna opens the chapter by praising the knowledge He is about to impart as the highest of all. By mentioning that all sages attained supreme perfection through this knowledge, He motivates Arjuna to listen with full attention. This knowledge of the three Gunas is essential for understanding how material nature binds the soul.
