यस्मात्क्षरमतीतोऽहमक्षरादपि चोत्तमः।
अतोऽस्मि लोके वेदे च प्रथितः पुरुषोत्तमः॥१८॥

Yasmat-Ksharam-Atito'ham-Aksharad-Api Cho-Uttamah.
Ato'smi Loke Vede Cha Prathitah Purushottamah.

क्योंकि मैं क्षर से अतीत हूँ और अक्षर से भी उत्तम हूँ, इसलिए लोक में और वेद में 'पुरुषोत्तम' नाम से प्रसिद्ध हूँ।
English Translation
Since I transcend the perishable and am higher than even the imperishable, I am celebrated in the world and in the Vedas as Purushottama (the Supreme Person).
Commentary (टीका)
Krishna declares His supreme identity — He transcends all that is perishable (the material world) and is even higher than the imperishable (the unchanging Brahman or the collective souls). This is why He is known universally as Purushottama, the Supreme Person. This title is not a mere honorific but reflects His ontological status as the ultimate reality beyond all categories.
