English Translation

Presiding over the ear, eyes, touch, taste, smell, and the mind, the soul enjoys the objects of the senses.

Commentary (टीका)

The soul experiences the material world through the five sense organs and the mind. Each sense has its corresponding object — sound, form, touch, taste, and smell. The mind coordinates and processes all sensory input. The soul, though transcendental, uses these instruments to interact with the material world, just as a person uses tools to perform work.
