Hindi Translation (हिन्दी अर्थ)
हे पार्थ! जिस धृति से दुर्बुद्धि मनुष्य नींद, भय, शोक, विषाद और मद को नहीं छोड़ता — वह तामसी धृति है।
English Translation
O Partha, the resolve by which a dull-minded person does not give up excessive sleep, fear, grief, depression, and intoxication — that resolve is tamasic.
Commentary (टीका)
Tamasic resolve is stubbornly clinging to self-destructive patterns — oversleeping, constant fear, grief, depression, and addictive behaviors. Ironically, this is determination applied in the wrong direction, making negative habits even harder to break. It represents the misuse of willpower.
