Hindi Translation (हिन्दी अर्थ)
English Translation
O best among men, the wise person whom these (pleasure and pain) do not torment, who remains equal in both, is fit for immortality.
Commentary (टीका)
Equanimity in pleasure and pain is not mere Stoic endurance but a recognition of the soul's transcendence over bodily experiences. The word 'amritatva' (immortality/liberation) indicates that this equanimity is not just a psychological skill but the gateway to the highest spiritual attainment.
