O Kaunteya, the turbulent senses can forcibly carry away the mind even of a discerning person who strives for self-control.
Commentary (टीका)
Krishna acknowledges the real difficulty: even wise and disciplined people can be overwhelmed by the senses. This honest admission makes the Gita practical rather than idealistic. The senses are described as 'pramathini' (turbulent, agitating) — they are powerful forces that require constant vigilance.
