Hindi Translation (हिन्दी अर्थ)
जो सब प्राणियों के लिए रात्रि है, उसमें संयमी जागता है; और जिसमें सब प्राणी जागते हैं, वह तत्त्वदर्शी मुनि की रात्रि है।
English Translation
That which is night for all beings is the time of awakening for the self-controlled. And that in which all beings are awake is the night for the introspective sage.
Commentary (टीका)
One of the Gita's most mystical verses. The sage's perception is inverted from the ordinary person's. While the world sleeps to spiritual reality, the sage is wide awake to it. While the world is 'awake' to sensory pleasures, the sage sees these as a dream. This reflects two entirely different levels of consciousness.
