Hindi Translation (हिन्दी अर्थ)

प्रिय वस्तु मिलने पर हर्षित न हो, अप्रिय मिलने पर उद्विग्न न हो — स्थिर बुद्धि वाला, मोहरहित, ब्रह्मवेत्ता ब्रह्म में स्थित है।

English Translation

One should not rejoice upon obtaining the pleasant, nor be disturbed upon obtaining the unpleasant. With steady intellect, undeluded, a knower of Brahman is established in Brahman.

Commentary (टीका)

This verse describes the emotional equanimity of the Brahman-realized person. Neither pleasant nor unpleasant experiences disturb their inner equilibrium. Their intellect is firm (sthira-buddhi), they are free from delusion (asammudha), and they rest in the constant awareness of Brahman. This is not suppression of emotions but a natural state arising from deep spiritual understanding.
