बाहरी विषयों को बाहर ही छोड़कर, दृष्टि को भ्रूमध्य में स्थिर करके, नासिका के भीतर चलने वाले प्राण और अपान को समान करके —
English Translation
Shutting out external sense contacts, fixing the gaze between the eyebrows, balancing the incoming and outgoing breaths flowing through the nostrils —
Commentary (टीका)
Krishna begins describing the technique of meditation for attaining liberation. The practitioner withdraws from external sense objects, focuses the gaze at the point between the eyebrows (ajna chakra), and balances the prana and apana breaths through the nostrils. This verse (continuing into the next) provides a concise guide to the practice of pranayama and pratyahara as preparation for deep meditation.
