With mind at peace, free from fear, established in the vow of celibacy, controlling the mind, with thoughts fixed on Me — one should sit engaged in yoga, devoted to Me as the supreme goal.

Commentary (टीका)

Krishna adds the inner conditions to the outer posture: peaceful mind, fearlessness, celibacy (brahmacharya), mental control, and most importantly, devotion to God as the ultimate focus. The instruction 'mat-chittah' and 'mat-parah' (mind on Me, devoted to Me) introduces a personal, devotional element into the practice of meditation. Yoga is not just technique but a loving connection with the Divine.
