हे अर्जुन! न अधिक खाने वाले का योग सिद्ध होता है, न बिलकुल न खाने वाले का; न अधिक सोने वाले का और न सदा जागने वाले का।

English Translation

Yoga is not for one who eats too much, nor for one who does not eat at all, O Arjuna. It is not for one who sleeps too much, nor for one who stays awake too much.

Commentary (टीका)

Krishna teaches the principle of moderation that is essential for successful yoga practice. Extremes of any kind — whether overeating or fasting, oversleeping or sleep deprivation — are obstacles to meditation. This practical wisdom shows that yoga is not about extreme asceticism but about finding the balanced middle path that supports both physical health and spiritual practice.
