Commentary (टीका)

This celebrated verse prescribes the balanced lifestyle essential for yoga. The threefold balance covers diet and leisure (yukta-ahara-vihara), work effort (yukta-cheshta), and rest patterns (yukta-svapna-avabodha). When life is lived in this harmonious balance, yoga naturally destroys all suffering. This teaching has universal relevance, showing that spiritual life flourishes through moderation, not extremes.
