Hindi Translation (हिन्दी अर्थ)
English Translation
The yogi is greater than the ascetics, greater even than the scholars, and greater than the ritualists. Therefore, be a yogi, O Arjuna.
Commentary (टीका)
Krishna establishes the supreme status of the yogi above three categories of spiritual practitioners: ascetics who practice penance, scholars who pursue knowledge, and ritualists who perform Vedic ceremonies. The yogi who combines inner communion with God, selfless action, and true knowledge surpasses all these. The chapter's penultimate instruction is direct and powerful: 'Tasmad yogi bhava Arjuna' — Therefore, become a yogi!
