Commentary (टीका)

Krishna describes His lower, material nature (apara prakriti) as consisting of eight elements — five gross elements and three subtle ones. This classification encompasses the entire material world, both physical and psychological. Understanding this helps the seeker see all of creation as an expression of the Divine.
