Hindi Translation (हिन्दी अर्थ)

English Translation

This is My lower nature. But know My other, higher nature — the life-element, O mighty-armed, by which this entire world is sustained.

Commentary (टीका)

Beyond the material nature lies the superior spiritual nature — the conscious principle (jiva) that animates all life. This teaching establishes the distinction between matter and spirit, both of which originate from God. The higher nature is what gives life and purpose to the otherwise inert material elements.
