Having attained Me, the great souls do not take rebirth in this impermanent world, which is an abode of suffering, for they have reached the highest perfection.
Commentary (टीका)
Krishna describes the material world as duhkhalayam (abode of suffering) and ashashvatam (impermanent). Those who attain the Supreme are permanently liberated from this cycle. The word 'mahatmanah' (great souls) emphasizes that this achievement is the mark of true spiritual greatness — freedom from the endless round of birth and death.
