मत्स्थानि सर्वभूतानि न चाहं तेष्ववस्थितः॥४॥

Mat-Sthani Sarva-Bhutani Na Cha-Aham Teshv-Avasthitah.||4||

मैंने इस सम्पूर्ण जगत को अपने अव्यक्त (निराकार) स्वरूप से व्याप्त किया है। सभी प्राणी मुझमें स्थित हैं, परन्तु मैं उनमें सीमित नहीं हूँ।
English Translation
This entire universe is pervaded by Me in My unmanifest form. All beings exist within Me, but I am not contained in them.
Commentary (टीका)
This is one of the most profound metaphysical statements in the Gita. God pervades everything yet transcends everything. The ocean contains the waves, but the ocean is not limited to any single wave. Similarly, all of creation exists within the Divine, but the Divine is infinitely more than all of creation combined. This is the concept of simultaneous immanence and transcendence.
