आढ्योऽभिजनवानस्मि कोऽन्योऽस्ति सदृशो मया।

यक्ष्ये दास्यामि मोदिष्य इत्यज्ञानविमोहिताः॥

Transliteration

Adhyo'bhijanavan-asmi ko'nyo'sti sadrisho maya

Yakshye dasyami modishya ity-ajnana-vimohitah

Hindi Translation (हिन्दी अर्थ)

'मैं धनवान् हूँ, कुलीन हूँ, मेरे समान कौन है? मैं यज्ञ करूँगा, दान दूँगा, आनन्द मनाऊँगा' — ऐसे अज्ञान से मोहित होते हैं।

English Translation

'I am wealthy and of noble birth. Who else is equal to me? I shall perform sacrifices, I shall give charity, I shall rejoice' — thus deluded by ignorance.

Commentary (टीका)

Even religious acts become tainted by the demoniac ego when performed for prestige rather than devotion. The claim of being unequaled reveals complete spiritual blindness. Krishna shows that ignorance can corrupt even seemingly virtuous activities like sacrifice and charity.
