आयुःसत्त्वबलारोग्यसुखप्रीतिविवर्धनाः।

रस्याः स्निग्धाः स्थिरा हृद्या आहाराः सात्त्विकप्रियाः॥

Ayuh-sattva-bala-arogya-sukha-priti-vivardhanah

Rasyah snigdhah sthira hridya aharah sattvika-priyah

आयु, सत्त्व, बल, आरोग्य, सुख और प्रीति बढ़ाने वाले, रसयुक्त, स्निग्ध, स्थिर और हृदय को प्रिय आहार सात्त्विक लोगों को प्रिय होते हैं।

English Translation

Foods that promote longevity, vitality, strength, health, happiness, and satisfaction — which are juicy, nourishing, substantial, and pleasing to the heart — are dear to those in the mode of goodness.

Commentary (टीका)

Sattvic food nourishes body and mind together. These foods are fresh, wholesome, and naturally pleasing rather than artificially stimulating. The Gita's dietary guidance aligns with the principle that what we consume directly affects our consciousness and spiritual capacity.
