Rooted in Traditional Dattatreya Devotional Literature, this composition carries deep spiritual significance. Chanting this stotra with devotion is said to remove all calamities, dangers, and sorrows as well as grant spiritual detachment and true knowledge. ॥ श्री दत्त बावनी ॥
जय जय दत्त दयाल हरो, आपदा विपदा सब टाल हरो।
त्रिगुणात्मक त्रैमूर्ति स्वरूप, दर्शन दीजे आज अनूप॥१॥
भाल विशाल तिलक शोभित, कानन कुण्डल शीश मुकुट।
गल हार विराजत बनमाला, दत्त दिगम्बर अंगन-वाला॥२॥
सुन्दर बदन कमल सम आभा, देखत मन मोहित सब लाभा।
गौ संग चार पीछे खड़ी, सुन्दर छवि श्वान संगत जड़ी॥३॥
हस्त कमण्डलु त्रिशूल धारी, जपमाला कर शोभा न्यारी।
डमरू शंख चक्र गदा धारे, शोभा अतुल न कोई विचारे॥४॥
ब्रह्मा विष्णु शिव अवतार, अनसूया अत्रि सुत उदार।
चौबीस गुरु बनाये जिन्होंने, शिक्षा ली सब जीवन से उन्होंने॥५॥
पृथ्वी से धैर्य शिक्षा पाई, वायु से निर्लिप्तता लाई।
आकाश सम व्यापक निर्विकार, जल सम पावन शीतल सार॥६॥
अग्नि सम तेजस्वी तपोमय, सूर्य सम ज्ञानप्रकाश अभय।
चन्द्रमा सम शीतल प्रकाश, कबूतर से सीखा था त्याग विलास॥७॥
अजगर सम सन्तोष अपार, समुद्र सम गम्भीर विचार।
पतंग सम आकृष्ट न होना, मधुमक्खी सम संग्रह खोना॥८॥
हाथी से सीखा विवेक, मृग से मोह त्यागो एक।
मछली से इन्द्रिय-नियन्त्रण, पिङ्गला से वैराग्य सम्पूर्ण॥९॥
कुररपक्षी से त्याग सीखा, बालक से निश्छल मन दीखा।
कुमारी से एकान्त अकेला, बाण बनाने वाले का खेला॥१०॥
सर्प से एकाकी विचरण, मकड़ी से रचना-विसर्जन।
भृङ्गी कीट सम ध्यान लगाया, चौबीस गुरु से ज्ञान उपजाया॥११॥
नारद-सनत्कुमार-सनातन, सनक-सनन्दन दत्त शरण।
ऋषि-मुनि देव सकल जग गावें, दत्तात्रेय शरण सुख पावें॥१२॥
बावन श्लोक पढ़े जो कोई, दत्त कृपा से सुखी वह होई।
सब विपदा हर लेत दयाला, दत्त अत्रेय कृपा-करि माला॥१३॥
नारद पुराण में गायन, श्रद्धा भक्ति सहित अभिधायन।
दत्त बावनी पढ़े जो प्रातः, मिटे कष्ट दुख हो सुख-सातः॥१४॥
जय दत्तात्रेय जय अवधूत, अत्रि-अनसूया जय सुत।
जय त्रिमूर्ति जय गुरुराजा, करो कृपा हम पर महाराजा॥१५॥
