॥ अथ श्रीमहाकालाष्टकम् ॥

नमस्ते महाकाल कालातिकाल

प्रभो शूलपाणे विभो विश्ववन्द्य।

महामृत्युनाशं महाकालदंष्ट्रं

महापापहारिन् नमस्ते नमस्ते॥१॥

महाभैरवं ते महोग्रस्वरूपं

महाकालमाहुर्मुनीन्द्राः समस्ताः।

वशीकृत्य कालं स्वयं कालरूपं

महाकाल शम्भो नमस्ते नमस्ते॥२॥

त्वमेकः सदाऽसीद्विभुर्विश्वनाथ-

स्त्वमेवादिदेवः सनातन ईशः।

यमाग्निर्जलं वायुराकाशभूमिः

त्वमेवासि सर्वं नमस्ते नमस्ते॥३॥

गिरीन्द्रात्मजायाः प्रियं सुन्दरं त्वं

जटाजूटमध्ये सुरापागवाहम्।

त्रिलोकीनमस्कार्य दिव्यस्वरूपं

महाकाल शम्भो नमस्ते नमस्ते॥४॥

श्मशाने वसन्तं भुजङ्गैर्धृतं तं

चिताभस्मलेपं कपालं दधानम्।

जगद्भक्षकं ते महाकालरूपं

महाकाल शम्भो नमस्ते नमस्ते॥५॥

महोज्ज्वालचक्षुर्विकासं त्रिनेत्रं

गदापाणिखड्गं डमारुं त्रिशूलम्।

विराजत्किरीटं ललाटे सुतिल्कं

महाकाल शम्भो नमस्ते नमस्ते॥६॥

त्वमावन्तिकायां सदा सन्निधानं

वदन्ति प्रतिष्ठां जनाः श्रीपुराणे।

द्वादशज्योतिर्लिंगमाद्यं महत्त्वं

नमस्ते सदा कालकालाय तुभ्यं

नमः शैवसिद्धान्तसाराय तुभ्यम्।
