About Hayagriva Stotram
The Hayagriva Stotram, known in Sanskrit as हयग्रीव स्तोत्रम्, is a devotional hymn of praise in praise of Lord Vishnu. Attributed to Vedanta Desika, this prayer holds a special place in Hindu devotional literature. Chanting this stotra with devotion is said to remove ignorance and bestow the light of pure consciousness as well as composed by the great Vedanta Desika, a masterpiece of devotional poetry. Additionally, it is known to grant supreme knowledge, wisdom, and learning. ॥ श्री हयग्रीव स्तोत्रम् ॥
ज्ञानानन्दमयं देवं निर्मलस्फटिकाकृतिम्।
आधारं सर्वविद्यानां हयग्रीवमुपास्महे॥ १॥
स्वतःसिद्धं शुद्धस्फटिकमणिभूभृत्प्रतिभटं
सुधासद्भास्वन्तं प्रतिवदनसम्पूर्णसुधयम्।
चतुर्भिर्वेदादीन् परिणमयतं पुस्तकधृतं
भजामो हे देवं हयवदनमिन्दीवरदलम्॥ २॥
समाहारस्साम्नां प्रतिपदमृचां धाम यजुषां
लयोदारस्तोत्रं परिगतगुणैर्ब्रह्मभवनम्।
स्वतः सर्वं वेत्सि प्रलयसमुदग्रं महदिदं
चिदव्यक्तं ज्योतिर्हयवदनमुद्यत्प्रभमहम्॥ ३॥
विशुद्धविज्ञानघनस्वरूपं
विज्ञानविश्राणनबद्धदीक्षम्।
दयानिधिं देहभृतां शरण्यं
देवं हयग्रीवमहं प्रपद्ये॥ ४॥
अपौरुषेयैरपि वाक्प्रपञ्चै-
रध्यक्षमध्यात्मविदोऽभिदध्युः।
यस्मात्प्रसूतास्त्रिगुणाः प्रपञ्चा-
स्तमद्भुतं हैहयमीडे विष्णुम्॥ ५॥
श्वेताम्बरधरं देवं श्वेतमाल्यानुलेपनम्।
श्वेताक्षसूत्रं वरदं श्वेतपद्मासनस्थितम्॥ ६॥
दक्षिणे ज्ञानमुद्रां च पुस्तकं चोत्तरे करे।
दधानमतिसौम्यं तं हयग्रीवमुपास्महे॥ ७॥
मधुज्ञानप्रदं देवं धवलाकारमच्युतम्।
वागीश्वरं वासुदेवं हयवक्त्रं नमाम्यहम्॥ ८॥
वाग्देवताचक्रनिवासहेतुं
वागीश्वरं वाचमतीतवन्तम्।
सर्वार्थदं सर्वजगद्धितैकं
वन्दे हयग्रीवमनन्तरूपम्॥ ९॥
मत्स्यासुरान्तकं विष्णुं
मधुकैटभमर्दनम्।
वेदोद्धारकमीशानं
हयग्रीवं नमाम्यहम्॥ १०॥
ज्ञानमूर्तिं परं ब्रह्म
परमार्थैकविग्रहम्।
वेदवेदान्तविज्ञान-
सारभूतं नमाम्यहम्॥ ११॥
वेदानां सारसर्वस्वं
विद्यास्थानमनुत्तमम्।
यं विदित्वा न जानन्ति
किञ्चिदन्यत्तपस्विनः॥ १२॥
